Il mare nonostante

Forte dei Marmi, IT
2020

One early summer afternoon I was at the Forte dei Marmi jetty. They had just opened after the first lockdown, a lot of people had gone out to enjoy the sea. Surfers, half-naked boys and girls with loose and wet hair, mingled with families and groups of friends dressed with Sunday clothes.

I thought that at that moment all of Italy was summed up in front of my eyes: a little observant, a little transgressive, a little poor and a little fashion, a little old and a little young. Ready to seize the first smallest freedom, to enjoy the sea, no matter what.
